**General Summary**

Logistics Specialist is responsible for the management and administrative execution of URT inbound and outbound domestic and international shipments along with entering and managing customer demand in our system. This will include tasks related to order entry, quoting, document creation, working with forwarding agents, and proactive customer communication. Administrative duties may be assigned in accordance with the office procedures of individual establishments and may include a combination of serving as logistics support for facility, data base management and/or special assigned activities from logistics, operations, or sales management team.

**Essential Job Functions**
- Possess a working knowledge of freight shipping options, bill of lading (BOL) etc.,
- Develop and foster a mindset that focuses on continuous improvement activities, root cause investigation and countermeasure development.
- Analyze statistics or other data to determine the level of customer service URT is providing.
- Quote shipments using estimated weights and dims and identify best potential shipping method.
- Review scheduled ship dates, need dates, and import and export requirements; expedite orders with Operations as required.
- Communicate with Customers, Vendors and Forwarding Agents to efficiently execute the timely and accurate shipment of goods and keep appropriate records.
- Create international shipping documents including BOL, SLI, COO, DG, and CI; work with Quality on creation of customer specific certificates for shipping.
- Oversee and coordinate packaging and creation of documents for dangerous goods shipments.
- Work with FedEx, or other material handling companies, to negotiate and maintain competitive rates
- Maintain logistics database to ensure proper DOT requirements are followed.
- Answer customers' questions about URT products, services, prices, availability, product uses, and credit terms. Recommend solutions to customers, based on customers' needs and interests.
- Support an open environment for cost reduction opportunities within area.
- Some travel required supporting URT product line support, industry trade conferences and other related travel as directed by reporting manager.
- Other job-related tasks and objectives as assigned by facility, sales, and logistics management team.

**Knowledge, Skills, Abilities**
- Experience with freight carriers (including UPS, FedEx, DHL) and Freight Forwarders.
- International shipping experience, including strong knowledge of international documentation.
- Advanced user knowledge of CRM database
- Basic accounting knowledge
- Sense of Urgency
- Ability to evaluate multiple items and prioritize efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and ensure accuracy of reports and data
- Advanced oral and written communications, conveying information effectively, modifying delivery to meet the needs of varying audiences
- Advanced office equipment operation, such as personal computer, IT systems, general office machines and software such as Microsoft Office Suite
- Time management
- Critical thinking, using logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
- Organize multiple work assignments and establish priorities
- Work effectively and efficiently both individually and within work teams

- Speak, read, and write English

**Education and Experience**

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s Degree in Business preferred. Minimum of three years of shipping and international logistics experience, along with at least two years office related customer service experience.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
