This position is responsible for coordinating and overseeing all aspects in the implementation of the company’s construction department. This position provides leadership in developing strategies and tactics for continuous performance improvement of his/her associates, department, and the company in general. The director ensures increasing level of customer and associate satisfaction while improving the efficiency of manpower, materials, Sales, and overall company advancement.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Follow company policies, procedures, and work standards.
- Manage the coordination of jobs, materials, subcontractors with the construction department.
- Review the daily/weekly construction schedule.
- Analyze all upcoming jobs, plans, sketches, and contracts with the Sales/Estimating Teams.
- Schedule construction crews in coordination with the deadlines set by project managers.
- Perform site inspections with project management.
- Oversee the scheduling of equipment, machinery, and outside subs, when needed.
- Monitor progress on all construction jobs.
- Ensure installation quality standards.
- Hire, organize, and train project management staff.
- Develop construction department to perform at maximum efficiency and profitability.
- Able to read and interpret blueprints and job specifications.
- Ability to deliver quality results under tight deadlines
- Demonstrate accountability for work being performed and completed on schedule.
- This position will require working Saturdays during peak season.

**NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
1. Participate and Contribute to Company initiatives.
2. Leads in the orientation/training of new team members.
3. Develops new ideas that will help the company run more efficiently.
4. Demonstrate strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with external clients and associates on a consistent basis
5. Other duties assigned

**SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY**:
This position is responsible for assigning, reviewing and checking work of other employees.

- 4. Yard Manager
- 5. Dispatch & Material Manager

**EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS**:
Bachelor’s Degree

Field of Study (if applicable): B.A./B.S. preferred or industry related experience.

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILL REQUIREMENTS**:

- Minimum 8 years of experience/knowledge in Commercial and Residential construction.
- Basic understanding of all types of construction machinery used in the landscape field.
- Five plus years’ experience in a leadership role within the landscape industry or profession.
- Able to read and interpret blueprints and job specifications.
- Demonstrate ability to effectively present information to top management, associates, public groups, and/or prospective clients.
- Demonstrate expert knowledge of company policies and procedures.
- Ability to develop budges and understand and interpret financials
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrate flexibility to perform duties wherever volume seems it necessary
- Ability to deliver quality results under tight deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Proven working experience in construction management
- Demonstrate accountability for work being performed and completed on schedule.
- OSHA Certifications a plus

- Monday - Friday 7-5
- Saturdays 7-3:30 in Peak Season (March-July & Oct-Dec)

Pay: $75,067.59 - $90,403.98 per year
