**Duties**:
This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Office of the Secretary, Indian Arts and Crafts Board, located in Washington, DC.

At the full performance level GS-11 the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

- Receives, tracks and processes complaints of possible Indian Arts and Crafts Act (IACA) violations filed pursuant to the statute and implementing regulations of 25 CFR Part 309. Participates in the development of cases by reviewing, analyzing and researching the complaint and examining evidence compiled and submitted with the complaint.
- Requests additional evidence and related information from various sources; when appropriate may travel to interview the complainant and/or gather additional evidence; reviews and analyzes industry reports, relevant financial reports, and opinions related to the IACA; analyzes and evaluates information and prepares a variety of documents for use in cases.
- Assists with pre-publication and editorial support for IACB publications, such as typing texts and proofreading typeset texts, captions, etc., for accuracy and conformity to the requirements and standards of the Indian Arts and Crafts Board and the Government Printing Office.
- Provides information and advice on the IACA, marketing, and general intellectual property rights protections, informally through attendance of Indian arts and crafts marketing events nationwide, and formally through presentations at national, regional, Tribal and State sponsored consumer protection seminars, industry conventions, and related venues.

The Office of the Secretary has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework only during an emergency or natural disaster.

**Salary Information**
**GS-9**:$68,405 - $88,926 per annum

**GS-11**:$82,764 - $107,590 per annum.

First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the lower salary range of the grade level.

Weekend work will be required to staff outreach/education booth on Indian Arts and Crafts Act.

This vacancy may be used to fill additional positions as vacancies become available.

**A. Specialized Experience**
To qualify for the **GS-09**, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the **GS-07** grade level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience:

- **1)** Participating in the development and implementation of programs involving, and in support of, consumer protection issues;
- **2)** Researching and analyzing information and documentation used in case development;
- **3)** Providing informational presentations to a range of audiences;
- **4)** Providing written and oral responses to requests for information;
- **5)** Providing editorial and production support for publications.
- **MUST MEET 3 OUT OF 5.**

**B. Education**: Possess 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education or Master's or equivalent graduate degree (such as an LL.B. or J.D.).

**C. Combination of Education and Specialized Experience**: Possess a combination of graduate level education beyond the first year of progressive graduate study and appropriate experience that together meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.**GS-11**
