Under the direction of the Coordinating Supervisor, the Autism Waiver Service Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination of autism waiver services for students and families in Prince Georges County Public Schools. The incumbent of this position will serve as the direct point of contact for families in need of information regarding autism waiver services available in the State of Maryland. The Autism Waiver Service Coordinator will also serve as the liaison for the Maryland Department of Health and the Maryland State Department of Education.

Salary Range:$65,211-$131,247

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:_**
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Serves as the local liaison and participates on the advisory committee for the Maryland Department of Health and Maryland State Department of Education;
- Serves as the Autism Waiver Program Multidisciplinary Team Chair for service coordination meetings;
- Supports the coordination of Medicaid billing for students receiving Autism Waiver services within the school system;
- Oversees and provides guidance to the contracted autism waiver service coordinators and clerical staff;
- Plans, schedules and facilitates quarterly and monthly Autism Waiver Team meetings;
- Assesses the needs of and provides professional development for the Autism Waiver Program;
- Attends and participates in systemic, county and state meetings and professional development; and
- Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:_**
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
- Working knowledge of medical assistance insurance benefits and programming for families with children;
- Considerable knowledge in human services, especially in-home case management practices for families with children;
- Knowledge of the characteristics of Autism Spectrum Disorder and the impact on family systems;
- Knowledge of Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR);
- Effective organization and human relations skills;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Ability to create a team that works collaboratively and promotes high expectations for all students;
- Ability to design, develop and implement public presentations;
- Ability to work independently and to exercise initiative in carrying out duties and responsibilities;
- Knowledge of, and comfort with the Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite, including Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
- Well organized, detail oriented and attention to accuracy is critical; and
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks ongoing at the same time.

**_ EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:_**
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in social work, human services or a related field required. A minimum of three (3) years of successful experience in providing service coordination services required.?

**_ CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:_**
Holds or ability to obtain the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) Autism Waiver Service Coordinator Certification.

**_ SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:_**
May provide guidance and oversight to assigned personnel.
