Department Summary: The UCLA Depression Grand Challenge is a groundbreaking campuswide initiative to cut the global burden of depression on human health and well-being in half by 2050. Established in 2015, UCLA is using an interdisciplinary approach leveraging its own expertise and collaborating with outside entities representing academic, government, philanthropic and industry sectors to bring new understanding and treatments to the greatest health challenge of the 21st Century. Currently, the DGC is focused on discovering the types and causes of depression, developing new treatments and putting new knowledge and strategies into practice, especially for communities underserved by current systems and methods. This role is based in the treatment research arm of the initiative. Position Summary:
The Depression Grand Challenge seeks a Junior Project Manager to support a new grant-funded project which involves four different streams of work. The streams include building new content for the STAND digital mental health program, supporting the set up and operation of a clinical trial at a community college site to test out the new content, delivering the content to the UCLA research site (CA community college) as well as at a number of international sites for a concurrent clinical trial, and analyzing the results of the trial.

The Junior Project Manager will have a significant role in tracking and reporting on the progress of the STAND content team, capturing feedback from various stakeholders, and documenting how feedback is incorporated into content revisions. The incumbent will work closely with the Principal Investigator, Michelle Craske, to set up the research project, conducting literature reviews, synthesizing information, tracking decisions and implementation of project design. As one of the few dedicated full-time members on this research project, the incumbent will serve as a liaison with the other sites conducting trials using the STAND content and digital platform. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that the appropriate team members are apprised of requests and the status of pending actions. During the clinical trial, which involves promotion of the research project at the collaborating community college site, the incumbent will liaise closely with the community college administration and champions, promoting the project and addressing concerns that may arise. The incumbent also will monitor engagement of participants in the program and keep the PI apprised of engagement and data collection. Finally the incumbent will participate in the data analyses phase under the direction of PI and postdoctoral fellow. While it is expected that the primary responsibilities of the role will relate to the new grant-funded project, the incumbent may have the opportunity to work on other research and service projects in Michelle Craske's lab and/or in the Depression Grand Challenge portfolio.
