Physical Security Specialist

**Duties**:

- You will conduct physical security surveys and crime prevention surveys.
- You will participate in facility construction and renovation meetings.
- You will be responsible for the daily support and maintenance of the installation Lost and Found Program.
- You will support physical security education training programs for Military Police and Law Enforcement personnel assigned to the installation.
- You will review all security requirement waivers and exemption requests from the installation and tenant commands.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

**Qualifications**:

- Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Maintaining access control; 2) Inspecting, analyzing, and evaluating security systems; 3) Utilizing various security systems; and 4) Assisting with developing security program policies and procedures.-
**Education**:
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree
OR
OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience

**Additional information**:
This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.

PPP applicants will be placed at the FPL, if determined Well Qualified (WQ). To receive priority consideration, the FPL must be the same grade level or equivalent of the retained grade or the grade held immediately prior to separation.

Military Spouse Preference applicants will be placed at the highest grade for which they have applied and are determined Best Qualified (BQ). A BQ military spouse possesses knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies comparable to others who meet the competitive referral criteria for the specific position.
