Quality Assurance Mechanical Inspector Aerospace Machined Parts

Our firm is a well-established with strong growth, and we manufacture close tolerance precision machined parts for the Aerospace industry. We are seeking a hands on Quality Assurance Mechanical Inspector to join our Quality Assurance team.

Must be able to communicate effectively with suppliers and our customers and co workers. This position performs daily: receiving inspection, in process, final product mechanical inspection, complete inspection reports. Perform hands on physical dimensional checking and also review paperwork and certifications from suppliers and vendors.

Quality Inspector Job Duties include:

- Work closely and communicate effectively with the Quality and Production Manager to achieve product quality and production goals.
- Communicate when directed with customers regarding quality issues. Respond to Customer corrective action requests.
- Participate in customer source inspection of parts as directed.
- Perform daily mechanical parts inspection functions using surface plate and or CMM tools : perform in-process, first article reports, final physical inspection.
- Inspect parts using inspection hand tools, mics, indicators, height gages, optical comparitor, surface plate inspection techniques, thread and plug gages, etc.
- Operate CMM to inspect parts. PCDMIS experience is desired and helpful but not a requirement of this position. We also have a job opening for a CMM PCDMIS programmer.
- Read and interpret GD&T ANSI Y14.5 engineering drawings for machined parts.
- Review material and specialty processing certifications for compliance to Aerospace standards and confirm if in accordance with internal planning, PO, and customer specifications.
- Inspect raw metals for size, condition, conformance to specifications.
- Support the Operations Manager and Quality Manger or Supervisor as required.

**Skills Requirements**:

- 3-5 years prior QA hands on mechanical inspection experience, or prior machine shop experience as a machinist might substitute.
- Experience using inspection hand tools, such as mics, indicators, height gages, thread gages, etc.
- Ability to read and interpret GD&T ANSI Y14.5 engineering drawings
- Shop math, trig, knowledge required
- US Citizenship required or equivalent for our US Govt contracts.
- Must be fluent in English and able to communicate effectively as above.
- Attention to detail, ability to read, write. Cognitive ability to perform the job with a minimum of errors or omissions.

Pay: From $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
