The area manager, through direct leadership of the store manager(s) and supervision of assistant managers and volunteers, provides direction in the daily operations to ensure exceptional customer service, high store standards, financial stability, safety & compliance.

**HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THIS ROLE (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)**

The Thrift Store Area Manager is responsible for the coordination and oversight of the daily operations and strategic direction for multiple Agrace Thrift Store locations.

Manage Daily Operations
- Oversee the daily operations of the thrift store including sales floor management, oversight of backroom operations, and administrative tasks.
- Ensure quality results by maintaining store standards for visual merchandising, signage, customer service, sorting, pricing, and disposal of inventory.
- Collaborate with other members of thrift management team to maximize marketing and social media presence.
- Ensure safety and cleanliness of the store.

Set Business Strategy
- Ensure policies and procedures are followed to promote a culture of customer service, accountability, and safety.
- Work in collaboration with supervisor and store managers to plan annual budget, review financials, and adjust course to meet annual goals.
- Engage in continuous process improvement and lead strategic direction for multiple stores to lead to growth in support and revenue.
- Work with management team to ensure that Agrace thrift standards are maintained throughout each location.

Manage Staff
- Hire, train, engage and retain department staff.
- Assign, direct and verify the work of direct reports.
- Assess staff performance and provide feedback, coaching, correction and development opportunities.

Other Duties
- Participate in internal work groups, meetings and committees relative to position responsibilities.
- Ensure compliance with Agrace policies and protocols, state, federal, and other regulations.
- Develop and adhere to annual department operating budget.

**YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)**
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and work experience; Bachelor’s degree in business related field preferred
- 3-5 years’ related experience
- Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills
- Experiencing managing staff
- Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with others
- Experience using industry specific software
- Ability to communicate financial/business/technical/clinical information to all levels of the organization
- Experience developing policy and procedure
- Experience in project management, strategic planning and execution, budgeting, and controlling costs
- Ability to engage staff in Agrace’s strategic and annual operating plans and LEAN projects and to ensure strategies and improvements remain in practice
- Ability to maintain confidentiality about patients, families, caregivers, staff, donors, and organizational intellectual property.
- Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle
- Ability to use proper body mechanics and standard precautions
- Ability to be flexible in time and task to meet organizational needs
