- Job Summary
To serve as the primary contact for an assigned number of our high-volume sales partners
Essential Functions
Responsible for, but not limited to:
- Create and maintain solid business partner relationships with assigned sales partners and their clients. Identify and support the needs of these partners and their customers.
- Understand the sales partners’ current sales figures and goals, and proactively assist them to meet or exceed these goals.
- Provide aggressive competitive pricing through research and negotiation when volume goes beyond special pricing with preferred suppliers.
- Obtain quotes, order PSA and spec samples from preferred suppliers. Stay current with trends in the industry and provide timely and innovative solutions to customers’ needs. Use provided programs to create custom presentations, slide decks or mock-ups for client proposals.
- Follow through on all orders, claims, and all issues pertaining to the assigned sales partners, from start to finish. Maintain open orders to ensure quantities and pricing allow for correct commission payouts according to the sales partners negotiated arrangements.
- Seek appropriate approvals for special commission splits and low margin agreements.
- In addition to sales research, write up and/or enter orders in Geiger’s online order entry system.
- Educate sales partners and customers when they require assistance with Geiger processes and programs within departmental guidelines. Perform routine shipping follow-up and ensure all pertinent details have been confirmed with the Production Partner, specifically related to destination, domestic/international, method of transit, duration of travel to delivery and troubleshoot all issues that may arise.
- Support and perform claims activities as needed.
- Conduct research and resolve problems presented by personnel from other functions. Identify opportunities to transfer sales or potential sales to a more appropriate business unit.
- Develop knowledge of billing and receivable functions in order to ensure that orders are being processed accurately in accordance with special customer needs. Work with personnel in these areas to set up and monitor special procedures required to meet customers’ specific needs.
- Provide direction to specialist functions within the department to assist in attaining goals.
- Provide direction and coordination to specialist functions within Corporate Departments including but not limited to Billing, Billing Expediting, Kitting, Distribution Center, Licensing, PopUp, Accounts Receivable and Claims.
- Support and participate in marketing plans.
- Coverage for colleagues may be requested as needs arise.
- Coordinate custom orders through Total Care.
- Understand product safety laws and ensure all purchasing adheres to Geiger’s and the industry’s guidelines for labeling and testing.
- Control and monitor sample costs to stay within business development funds.
- Coordinate activities with creative and other support personnel as required. Use necessary tools, such as sales analysis, profitability analysis and corporate branding guidelines to promote sales growth and gain opportunities.
- This position will require direct contact with sales partners and their customers.
- May travel to the field with sales partners to visit their customers in order to strengthen our relationships and learn more about their industries.
- May also travel to trade shows for product knowledge and to develop relationships with production partners. Maintain regular communication with direct Manager for assistance in determining appropriate service guidelines and to discuss special requests or needs that are outside of positions authority.
- Set daily parameters to ensure workflow distribution meets and exceeds goals.
- May require involvement in sales and marketing aspects of potential Global accounts.
- Product selection, assistance in RFP’s, creation of Power Point presentations on capabilities of Geiger, assistance in creation of mock web sites and involvement in face-to-face sales calls may be required.
