Smile Train is looking for exceptional people to join a world-wide team of dedicated, passionate, professionals. Our team are creative and highly motivated individuals working to make a positive impact. Come join us

We are looking for a Manager to support the Community Development team, which engages supporters to raise funds and awareness for Smile Train. The Manager will oversee Smile Train’s Young Leadership Circle (YLC), a group of graduate students and young professionals committed to empowering local healthcare workers around the world to provide children with clefts the care they need to live and thrive. The YLC holds fundraising events and educational programs throughout the year and members have the unique opportunity to work with Smile Train’s staff to develop the group’s long-term fundraising strategies. The manager will also support Journey of Smiles, Smile Train’s supporter travel program. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about junior board development, peer to peer fundraising, donor travel, and stewardship.

The Manager will report to the VP, Community Development. This is a full-time role based at our headquarters in New York City, starting as soon as possible.

Note: Our New York team works in a hybrid environment, working from the office twice per week; the COVID-19 vaccine is required for all US-based employees, except in the event of approved medical or religious exemption.

- Fundraising support: Ensure that members are meeting their fundraising goals and that they have the tools and resources they need to be successful.
- Committee management: Determine the number of committees needed and work with members to develop format and annual goals. Select committee co-chairs and meet with them regularly to provide support and track progress.
- Event management: Support members with events in their local communities and potentially plan a large-scale NYC based event.
- Internal and external communications: Working closely with Smile Train’s Communications team, manage all stories and PR opportunities related to the group.
- Alongside VP, support management of Journey of Smiles, Smile Train’s supporter travel program. Among other responsibilities, this will include trip design, itinerary, promotion, and traveler communications.
- Supporting with additional administrative, events, and tasks related to community fundraising as determined.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s Degree
- Proven minimum 2+ years of experience in fundraising, community engagement, or related roles.
- Nonprofit board management experience and/or experience with young professional groups is strongly preferred.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong networking and relationship-building abilities
- Demonstrated ability to support and execute successful fundraising events
- Excellent project management and organizational skills
- Knowledge of fundraising principles and strategies
- Proficient in using fundraising software and tools. Experience with Salesforce or other CRM preferred.
- Passionate about Smile Train’s cause and commitment to making a positive impact
- A flexible schedule and ability to staff events that occur outside of business hours, including nights and weekends, is a requirement.
- Join our team and become a catalyst for change If you are enthusiastic about building meaningful connections, have a flair for managing successful fundraising initiatives, and are driven to make a difference, we would love to hear from you.
