**Duties**:
The Supervisory Electronic Technician is responsible for establishing and maintaining highly reliable fire systems and providing emergency fire alarm service 24 hours a day.

**In this position, you will**:

- Supervise and direct the installation, repairs, overhauls, rebuilds, modifies, tests, and troubleshoots major integrated electronics systems such as intelligent addressable fire alarm systems; also directs and supervises the preventive maintenance, testing, and servicing of a broad range of other electronic equipment and devices related to fire detection, fire suppression, and fire damper systems.
- Develop maintenance plans and review preventive maintenance contracts; plan & direct the predictive testing & inspection activities in support of the Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) program.
- Analyzes overall work requirements and makes determinations concerning resources needed and allocation of resources for efficient and economical operations.
- Negotiate with vendors to purchase new equipment, obtaining price, quantity, and availability; approves and disapproves scope of work and invoices based on completion of work.

**Qualifications**:
**Experience**:You qualify for this position if you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal Service. **For this position, specialized experience is defined as **generating plans and objectives for troubleshooting Fire Alarms, Control systems and electrical/mechanical systems; review and evaluate engineering proposals and leading a team of technician.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Part-time and/or unpaid experience related to this position will be considered to determine the total number of years and months of experience. Be sure to note the number of paid or unpaid hours worked each week.

**Additional information**:

- This position is not included in the bargaining unit.
