Required Skills:

  • Familiar with all Electronic Test equipment.
  • Expert in all aspects of soldering and de-soldering
  • Computer skills required: Understanding of SAP, Microsoft word, excel, and Power point
  • Ability to communicate effectively and write technical work & repair procedures, as well as troubleshooting guides

Detailed Role Explanation:

Primary functions of Electronic Technician include but are not limited to the following:

  • Troubleshoot and repair a variety of multi-purpose electronic and/or electro-mechanical control systems for underground Mining equipment.
  • Studies the inter-relation of the various controlling circuits and plans tests for the individual control circuits and components.
  • Conducts a series of involved functional and operational tests on components.
  • When completing repairs, in order to properly align and tune highly sensitive inter-related circuits and electro-mechanical systems, the Electronic Technician must process the repaired component through necessary cycles to check electronic and/or electro-mechanical systems and make critical adjustments in the values and settings of the components throughout the testing cycle.
  • Analyzes results of the tests to locate and determine the cause of the malfunction.
  • Replaces, or directs the replacement of faulty parts and/or wiring of the unit and retests the system or systems as necessary.
  • Installs electronic and/or electro-mechanical equipment of the complexity described above.
  • Modifies existing electronic and/or electro-mechanical control systems or combinations of systems to incorporate latest designs and/or to include new functions within the control of the system; establishes arrangement and location of components to eliminate electronic interference, and provide for ease of the repair.

Graduate of a technical school, military school, or relevant working experience acceptable to the company.
