Plant Operator/laborer

**Wind Gap Municipal Authority** is looking for **Plant Operator/Laborer** to join our team in Wind Gap, PA

As a Plant Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a plant. You will ensure the completion of production tasks in compliance with quality standards and safety regulations.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Will be required to perform a variety of tasks at the treatment plant, lift stations, and throughout the sewer system. Duties may include but are not limited to the following:

- Physical labor such as lifting equipment and materials (up to 100 pounds), facility cleaning, performing demolition work, painting, grass cutting, general grounds keeping, etc.
- Competent use of hand tools.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and instrumentation.
- Operate small equipment such as forklift.
- Ability to work with, around and in wastewater. Including but not limited to equipment that has been in contact with, processes or contains wastewater, screenings, sludge and biosolids.
- Work a rotating weekend and holiday schedule after receiving proper training and under the direction of a licensed operator.
- Availability for after-hours call outs.

**Requirements**:

- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Must be able to pass drug screen, background check and E-Verify.
- Valid PA driver's license required.
- Requires math skills, basic biology and chemistry knowledge.
- Mechanical skills are important.
- Works well with others and follows safety cautions when working in hazardous conditions.
- Valid PA Wastewater Operators license preferred but not required. Ability/desire to obtain PA Wastewater Operators license within two years of hire.

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
