Job Summary – Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, conveyor systems, and production machines throughout the plant.

Ensure the highest machine efficiency and quality production at the lowest cost through a continuous program of preventive maintenance and repair.

Essential Functions * Must be able to read and write legibly, have basic math skills, and be able to meet company requirements on electrical test.

* Maintain working knowledge of A/C, electrical, mechanical and construction skill in order to maintain equipment, building and grounds as required.

* Maintain a working knowledge of compressors in order to maintain equipment as necessary.

* Maintain a working knowledge of the electrical layout of the plant.

* Perform preventive maintenance throughout the plant in an effort to keep machines and equipment in excellent condition using all safety rules and regulations that apply.

* Maintain a working knowledge with Parkdale’s safety programs; be familiar with MSDS, lockout/tagout, electrical safe working practices, permits and procedures pertaining to all aspects of the job.

* Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of assigned work areas.

* Provide leadership during normal day to day routine plant maintenance operations.

* Be available when off duty if an emergency arises.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) * 100% cotton clothes * Proper hearing protection * Safety glasses * Hard hat * Level 2 Arc Flash protective clothing * Arc flash shield * 1000V electrical rubber gloves * Leather gloves * Fire resistant coveralls * Lockout and tag * Chemical resistant gloves * Cut resistant gloves * Proper respirator for task * Warm outer clothing in Winter * Safety Vest * Face shield * Rubber Gloves * Apron Tools * Fluke volt meter, amp meter, other electrical meters * Insulated hand tools * Electrical schematics * Cleaning supplies * Air hose and nozzle * Lubricants and hydraulic oils * Ladders, scissor lift, fork lift * Utility knife and other hand tools as needed * Calibration instruments * Water hose Machines and Equipment * Air washers * Chillers * Air compressors * Monitoring systems * Production equipment * Forklift * Scissor lift * Other equipment not mentioned above Job Duties * At the beginning of the shift, check assigned machinery, production and auxiliary, to ensure it is free of electrical problems that could cause safety or quality problems or machinery malfunctions.

* Troubleshoot electrical problems, using proper equipment and PPE according to Electrician JSA.

Always refer to the Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Lockout/Tagout Procedures, and Safety Rules when performing electrical tasks.

Before beginning any repair or maintenance review lockout procedures for equipment.

* Perform all plant electrical maintenance.

* Monitor/repair fire protection system as required (maintain Limited Fire Sprinkler Maintenance Technician license). * Repair air, water, and sprinkler lines as required.

* Perform basic machinist work as required.

* Rebuild bearings in motors.

* Repair blowers and sweepers.

* Lubricate electrical motors.

* Repair plant water and plumbing systems.

* Repair/replace light fixtures, ballasts, and bulbs as needed throughout plant.

* Fire control system maintenance * Replace FM-200 bottles as needed.

* Check valves inside and outside plant that operate sprinkler system.

* Check pump house valves and fill water tank as needed.

* Check Argus Fire Control System to make sure all extinguishers and cylinders are full and armed.

* Send all empty extinguishers and cylinders to be refilled immediately.

* Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on electrical panels.

* Check contactors for dust accumulation and proper operation, cleaning or replacing as necessary.

* Repair/replace electrical wiring on machinery as needed.

* Repair/replace switches on machinery as needed.

* Air compressor maintenance * Check and log compressors that are in operation.

* Grease motors for each compressor as needed.

* Perform preventive maintenance as scheduled.

* Perform assigned weekly and monthly inspections such as ladders, eyewash/shower stations, fire, valve, etc.

* Maintain as adequate inventory of parts needed.

Send off parts that need repairs in a timely manner.

All repair items should be packaged and the necessary paperwork completed for pickup by the vendor or UPS.

* Be self-supervised and professional in all assigned duties.

* Follow company policies and safety procedures.

* Perform other duties as assigned by management.

* Report any unsafe conditions or practices to management immediately.

CO2 Bottle Changing Procedure * Put on required additional PPE: protective apron, face shield, and rubber gloves.

* Ensure bottle is properly secured and date & initial the inspection tag.

DO NOT proceed until this step is completed.

* Remove solenoid.

* Remove actuator.

* Remove extinguisher hose.

* Loosen straps holding the empty bottle.

* Remove the empty bottle.

* Always use the cart to move empty bottles.

Bottles must be secured to the cart.

* Install new bottle and properly secure.

* Connect the main extinguisher hose.

* Install actuator.

* Reset central fire panel.

* Check solenoid with screwdriver to be sure that it is deactivated.

If it is not magnetized, it is OK to replace.

* Make sure that the detector is on and that there are no alarms or trouble lights on the control panel.

Housekeeping * Maintain good housekeeping in designated areas at all times * Sweep floor in area where work is performed.

* Store all tools away immediately after the job is finished.

* Store all ladders, water hoses, air hoses, etc.

* Clean electrical equipment as assigned.

* Keep maintenance shop clean and organized.
