Cake Decorator/baker

About us

We are a quaint local bakeshop offering unique cakes, cupcakes, breakfast pastries, brownies & more.

Decorator Responsibilities:

- Decorate cakes according to customer specifications and design requests
- Create visually appealing and unique cake designs using various techniques and tools
- Ensure that all cakes are prepared and decorated promptly to meet customer deadlines
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of decorating supplies and equipment
- Collaborate with the bakery team to ensure efficient production and delivery of cakes
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a safe and hygienic work environment
- Assist with other bakery tasks as needed, such as baking, packaging, and food preparation

Qualifications:

- Previous experience as a cake decorator or in a similar role within the food industry is preferred
- Knowledge of different cake decorating techniques, including piping, fondant, and sugar flowers
- Strong attention to detail and creativity to create visually appealing cake designs
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards
- Excellent time management skills to meet customer deadlines
- Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and tools, including knives and mixers
- Understanding of food handling and safety regulations

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week

- Day shift

- Weekends as needed

Ability to Relocate:

- Chicago, IL 60657: Relocate before starting work (required)
