We are looking for talented, energetic people who are ready to help bring bring our cakes to life.

As part of the Bittersweet cake decorating team you will:

- Cut and layer freshly-baked cakes with Bittersweet’s signature from-scratch fillings
- Finish cakes in our Italian Meringue Buttercream with a perfectly smooth finish and razor sharp corners
- Tint buttercream for custom finishes
- Write on cakes in our contemporary style
- Decorate using Bittersweet’s signature cake decoration options
- Maintain a clean station
- Adhere to state-and city-mandated health and safety standards

You must:

- Have a passion for high-end pastry and cakes
- Have a culinary school degree or previous professional bakery experience
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen
- Pay close attention to detail
- Possess excellent communication skills and organizational skills
- Have current Chicago Food Handler’s License or Food Manager Certificate
- Be able to work up to 10-hour shifts while standing
- Be able to move around in a confined space
- Be able to lift up to 50 lbs as well as reach, bend, squat, twist, walk up and down stairs, etc
- Work afternoons, evenings, weekends and holiday shifts as scheduled

You will receive:

- Starting at $18 an hour depending on experience
- Paid sick leave
- Available health insurance with employer contribution
- 4-5 shifts a week for a total of 40 hours a week
- Daily staff meal and employee discount

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
