Events Project Specialist

The Society of American Florists is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to put their project management skills to work as the association’s Events Project Specialist. In this role you will manage multiple projects simultaneously, overseeing their lifecycles from inception to completion. As part of the Connections team, you will play a critical role in supporting revenue generation through meetings and events.

Key Responsibilities:

- Creates a streamlined, efficient and “wow” member experience for registering for and participating in virtual and in-person events
- Helps ensure efficient and streamlined in-person event experience through pre-event and on-site logistics coordination
- Ensures members engage with SAF’s digital content through surveys, the safnow.org website and biweekly newsletter and social media platforms
- Works alongside volunteers to coordinate and execute competitions at SAF’s annual convention
- Celebrates and encourages floral industry achievement and excellence by coordinating SAF’s annual awards program
- Showcases the impact and health benefits of flowers in local communities by providing support for the annual Petal It Forward event
- Engages the Next Gen group (45 and under) with SAF’s products, services and events
- Collaborates regularly across membership and content/marketing departments to ensure all projects further SAF’s strategic plan and revenue targets
- Works with volunteer committees overseeing awards, Next Gen and PFCI

Qualifications:

- Proven experience in project or event coordination (minimum 2 years ideal)
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with database systems (e.g., Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar)
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members
- Full working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs, Adobe and Dropbox.
- Experience with WordPress and social media marketing a plus
- Nonprofit or association experience is preferred but not required
