**Essential Duties**
- Assists in overseeing daily practices.
- Assists in the recruitment and selection of student athletes for Men's Ice Hockey.
- Assists in the conditioning, training and performance of team members.
- Assists in monitoring academic progress and eligibility status of student team members and the participation of team members in class attendance and meeting mandatory study hall requirements.
- Adheres to all University, NCAA, and Conference rules. Counsels student athletes in their obligations to observe rules and procedures adopted by the University, Conferences, and the NCAA.
- Participates in public relation activities which are in conformance with all applicable rules and regulations governing Intercollegiate Athletics as approved by SDA Administration and Head Coach.
- Performs other administrative duties pertaining to the program as assigned by the Head Coach.

**Minimum Qualifications**

Bachelor's degree in a related field and two years prior coaching experience at the college/university, Elite club, or Professional level; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

**Desired Qualifications**
- Demonstrated knowledge of techniques and methods, specific to ice hockey to include knowledge of science and technology of training and conditioning for sports competition.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and demonstrated commitment to NCAA rules and regulations.
- Experience in coaching and/or competing as an athlete at the college, university, Elite Club, or Professional level.
- Experience in interpersonal relations.
- Evidence of effective communication.
- Experience in stimulating changes in individual, institutional, and corporate behaviors to create a more sustainable environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead by example in communicating, participating and encouraging support of the institution’s sustainability programs.

**Working Environment**
- Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds
- Ability to clearly communicate verbally, read, write, see and hear to perform essential functions.
- Frequent Travel is required
- Schedule varies and may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Driving is required
