**Administrative Medical Assistant / Licensed Practical Nurse**

Medical office located at 1169 N Main Street in Bluffton is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). We are a small, close-knit team with one physician.

The Administrative MA/LPN functions in a clinical and administrative support role to assist the physician and practice manager to ensure the delivery of quality health care services. The position will partner with another Administrative MA/LPN to complete all the tasks of this multi-faceted position. This will involve working closely with your partner, and excellent organizational and communication skills. The Administrative MA/LPN reports to the Practice Manager.
- Office Hours: Monday - Thursday 7:45 a.m. - 4:15 p.m.
- Job Type: full-time
- Education: Current CMA, CCMA, RMA medical assistant and must maintain certification, or associate degree in nursing with current Indiana Nursing License
- Experience: minimum 1 year medical office with some administrative experience
- NON-SMOKING OFFICE AND PROPERTY

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

You will interact with patients, insurance companies, pharmacies and other medical offices over the phone and computer when performing administratie duties. This will include:
1. Responding to patient phone calls by end of business day.

2..Timely and successful completion of prior-authorizations with insurance companies for medications, procedures, imaging studies, and office visits. Follow-up on uncompleted tasks is mandatory.

3.. Accurate ordering of medications, imaging studies, and lab tests as ordered by the physician.

4. Review of all new referrals, imaging study results, laboratory testing results, and outside specialist consultations before close of day.

5. Although most records are electronic, daily maintenance of paper charts and other paper medical records.

6. Analysis of patient medication use, assessment of patient issues, and preparation for upcoming patient visits.

7. Manage interactions with vendors, sales representatives, and the staff at other physician offices. Experience and professionalism working with these outside resources is required.

8. Oversee service providers for hazardous waste disposal.

9. Maintain MSDS records.

10. Manage compliance for staff training in CPR, BBP, etc.

11. Attentive to areas of compliance such as HIPAA and OSHA.

12. Perform clerical needs including record keeping, data entry, filing, copying, scanning, faxing, and shredding. Computer competence required.

You will interact with patients and vendor representatives in office when performing clinical duties. This will include:
1. Collect patient medical histories and medication lists and record and maintain current data in electronic patient chart.

2. Collect patient assessment data pertaining to the physical, psychological and social status of the patient.

3. Collect and record patient vital signs.

4. Oversee completion of contracts and consent forms by patients.

5. Evaluate and enter MACRA/MIPS data and ensure meeting all criteria.

6. Prepare patient, room and instruments for procedures.

7. Assist physician during procedures.

8. Stock all exam and procedure rooms for patient care.

9. Maintain procedure and exam room cleanliness.

10. Maintain nurse stations orderliness and cleanliness.

11. Prepare charts for following day including INSPECT reports for PDMP and reviewing UDS results.

**REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE**
- Medical assisting clinical experience required.
- EHR experience, NextGen experience preferred but will train.
- Detail-oriented.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Surgical Asepsis, Universal Precautions, OSHA standards, HIPAA.
- Interact directly with patients and the public with confidentiality, courtesy and professionalism.
- Confident, well-spoken, professional and neat in appearance.
- Conducts self in every personal and professional circumstance with adherence to the highest ethical standards.

- Approximately 50% of time spent standing / walking
- Moderate to heavy computer use
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to wear a lead apron for procedures is required as many utilize Fluoroscopy

Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
