Referral Specialist

Responsibilities:

- Coordinate and process referrals for patients to specialist providers
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for referrals
- Communicate with patients, providers, and insurance companies regarding referral status and requirements
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of referrals and related documentation
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information
- Collaborate with medical office staff to ensure smooth referral processes
- Assist with coding and billing tasks related to referrals

**Experience**:

- Previous experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records, and coding systems (ICD-10, ICD-9)
- Knowledge of insurance verification processes and requirements
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy guidelines
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
