RCH has open shifts in our homeless shelters serving Suffolk County's homeless families and homeless men in Bay Shore.
Per Diem employees make their own schedule. Per Diem, e**mployees are required to work 3 shifts a month**. Extra hours are always available.
**Shifts are 6a-2pm, 2pm-10pm, and 10pm-6am.**
Applicants must not be fearful of COVID.
- Applicants must be okay with COVID-19 positive or COVID-19 exposed persons being quarantined in the homeless shelter where they will be training and/or working.
- Applicants must prepare meals for quarantined persons residing in the homeless shelter, and applicants must provide them with all items as directed by a supervisor.
- Applicants will be cleaning units that may have previously held a COVID-19 positive person or persons.
- Applicants must understand that wearing a mask is required at all times, for the entire duration of the shift.
**Shifts are 6a-2pm, 2pm-10pm, and 10pm-6am.**
**We must still provide and protect the homeless, even during a crisis; direct service to clients is required. PPE is available on site.**
House Monitors are responsible for the safety and well-being of all shelter clients, assisting each client with job search/housing search, resume creation, GED preparation, maintenance of the physical site, documentation completion, donation outreach, daily cleaning/organizing, and crisis management.
House Monitors must have the ability to handle high-stress and potentially dangerous situations. House Monitors must have a basic understanding of the English language (written and verbal). Employees will have interactions with local law enforcement and The Suffolk County Department of Social Services.
Potential House Monitors must have a high school diploma or GED, and a valid driver's license. Potential House Monitors will be required to pass a County and State clearance prior to employment. Clearance fee of $75 will be reimbursed once employed for 90 days.
