Brief Description of Duties

**Responsibilities**:
**Database Management**: Oversee and maintain the integrity of the advancement database systems. Ensure accurate and timely data entry of gifts, pledges, and donor information. Develop and implement policies and procedures for database management. Conduct regular database clean-up and deduplication processes.

**Data Analysis and Reporting**: Generate regular reports on fundraising progress, donor trends, alumni engagement and campaign performance. Analyze data to identify potential donor opportunities and areas for growth. Provide data-driven insights to inform development strategies.

**Data Integrity and Security**: Regularly audit databases to ensure data accuracy and integrity. Implement robust security protocols to protect sensitive information and develop an internal policy guide to ensure data is entered and maintained.

**Training and User Support**: Serve as the primary contact for database-related inquiries. Train staff on database use and best practices. Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for database users.

**System Upgrades and Integration**: Coordinate with IT to manage database upgrades and integrations with other institutional systems. Test and implement new features or modules to enhance database functionality.

**Policy and Compliance**: Ensure database activities comply with university policies, data protection laws, and best practices.

**Collaboration and Communication**: Work closely with other departments to ensure data accuracy and consistency. Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners.

Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Data Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in database administration, preferably in an educational or nonprofit setting.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and database software, SQL, and data analysis tools, with a preference for experience in fundraising databases.
- Familiarity with advancement systems (e.g., Raiser's Edge, Salesforce, Ever true) is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Excellent organizational abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to the values and mission of the University of the District of Columbia.

**Collective Bargaining Unit (Union)**: This position is not part of the collective bargaining unit.

**Employment Benefits**: Selectee will be eligible for health and life insurance, annual (vacation) and sick leave and will be covered under the University of the District of Columbia' s retirement plan (TIAA).
