Mercy Home for Children a nonprofit agency that provides person centered support to the intellectual and developmental disabled adult population is hiring a key player for our Residential Programs located in Bklyn, Queens & Baldwin L.I.

The **Residential Administrator**, will be under the general direction of the Executive Vice President of Program Operations and be responsible for the oversight of the Residential Department including defining rules, policies, and guidelines to ensure that the main objectives follow the company strategy as well as establishing control mechanisms. The Residential Administrator defines the management strategy and related objectives for the residential department; develops, documents, and introduces the process model; and monitors the processes in compliance with OPWDD standards. This key player will provide overall leadership, vision, and direction in the areas of individuals services, program development, physical plant management, regulatory compliance, and strategic planning.

**Essential Functions**:

- Provide supervision to the Residential Directors, Residence Coordinators & Consultants
- Facilitate the coordination of Residential Services for individuals.
- Identify, develop and implement best practices to improve systems, procedures, and processes within budgetary guidelines.
- Ensure the programs’ compliance with all regulations; and agency policies, procedures, and standards.
- Ensure individual program plans are implemented as prescribed and protect and uphold the rights of the individuals served.
- Ensure incidents and reporting of incidents are managed as per agency guidelines and all regulations.
- Conduct accurate and comprehensive investigations and administrative reviews as it relates to the individuals and/or employees.
- Communicate effectively with individuals served, team members, other departments, families, visitors, and others.
- Serve as the liaison with other service providers including but not limited to sheltered workshops, day habilitation programs, hospitals, doctors, and Case Managers, neighbors and community contacts, as needed.
- Assist with development of necessary training for all staff.
- Actively participate in all mandatory training, in-services, and conferences as required; maintain certification in all mandatory trainings.
- Serve as Chair or Co-Chair and/or actively participate in special projects or committees, e.g. IRC, HRC, Employee Recognition, etc.
- To serve as a member of the Emergency On-Call Team.
- All other duties as assigned.

**Supervisory Functions**:

- Manage Residential Director's performance; provide on-going, effective and timely feedback.
- Objectively evaluate the Director’s performance and implement a development plan.
- Ensure all employees are effectively trained to perform their job functions, to meet regulatory and agency standards.
- Ensure all employees’ performance is objectively and effectively managed.
- Ensure the program’s staffing needs are met and manage staffing patterns.

**Education**:Bachelor's Degree in human service, Healthcare Administration, Psychology, or related field required.

**Certification/License**:

- Valid and clean New York State Driver’s License.
- AMAP, CPR, SCIP-R and First Aid preferred.

**Experience**:

- A minimum of eight years of experience working with the adult developmentally disabled population in a residential setting.
- A minimum of three years of experience as a residential Director in an OPWDD certified program.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:

- Ability to work autonomously, with mínimal oversight and supervision.
- Highly organized and able to handle multiple priorities.
- Detail-oriented, multi-task capable and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment; and meet deadlines.
- Ability to influence people and build strong relationships with individuals & co-workers.
- Strong skills in both verbal and written communication. Able to exchange information with other people concisely and accurately.
- Ability to work flexible hours including late evenings, early mornings, and weekends.
- PC skills—Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
