**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** include but are not limited to the following. The organization reserves the right to add to, delete, change or modify the essential duties and responsibilities at any time.
- Coordinates and completes developmental screenings of all children.
- Implements active supervision of children at all times and ensuring child safety.
- Teaches children in large groups, small groups, and individually. Teaches each class daily as scheduled and assigned.
- Works with the classroom team to implement the research-based curriculum, serving as educational leader, and modeling excellent teaching practices.
- Convenes meetings of the classroom team each week to develop lesson plans and child assessment results and develops individualized instruction plans.
- Completes regular quarterly assessments of each child’s learning. Generates Class Profile Report from Teaching Strategies GOLD to assess child outcomes.
- Welcomes parents/guardian in the program and seeks out their support and involvement. Holds parent-teacher conferences throughout the year, including an end-of-year transition conference. Plans and conducts parent-child activities for bi-monthly Family Fun nights and plans monthly field trips.
- Works collaboratively with all applicable staff, as well as community partners to ensure a seamless transition into kindergarten.
- Participates in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings for children with special needs (usually held at the school district) as requested by parents/guardian.
- Maintains a comprehensive and ongoing education file for each child, including weekly observations in each area, examples of the child’s work, and developmental assessment.
- Maintains a safe and healthy classroom environment. Assures that classroom equipment, furniture, materials, and supplies are properly maintained and stored.
