The Special Education would be responsible for working with children who have a broad range of disabilities including cognitive emotional or physical disabilities at a elementary school. Teaches disabled youth life skills and basic literacy and modifies the general education curriculum to meet the childs needs.


School located in Homewood Illinois

Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Demonstrates knowledge of second language learning patterns and best practices in English language development.
  • Plans and delivers lessons in English language development.
  • Collaborates with classroom teachers and specialists to ensure achievement of ELLs across content areas.
  • Administers formative and summative assessments to monitor progress and ensure student achievement.
  • Possesses the skills necessary for serving as a liaison between the school and the home.
  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively with classroom teachers administration and families.





Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher or relevant role
  • Experience working with children with a wide range of disabilities
  • Bachelors in Special Education; Masters degree a plus
  • Have or be eligible to apply for an Illinois PEL with special education (LSB1) endorsement
  • Must be able to work up to 37.5 hours per week.
