- Position Summary_

The **Administrative Assistant **supports the Voting Rights team and provides administrative and secretarial support, and other duties related to the time-limited grant project.

**This position is a part-time (20 hours/week), time limited position that offers a prorated benefits package including health and dental insurance, and more. Applicants must live in Harris County, Fort Bend County, Galveston County or Montgomery County area to be considered for this position. The position will end on October 30, 2026.**
- Physical/Mental Requirements_
- Uses personal computer approximately 7-8 hours per day.
- Spends approximately 1-3 hours per week in meetings.
- Sits approximately 7-8 hours per day.
- Requires working under a moderate degree of stress (time constraints; deadlines; multi-tasking high-level projects and issues; complex issues; and conflict resolution).
- Minimal travel, generally local. (less than 30%)
- Essential Functions_
- Provide administrative and secretarial support, sometimes complex and high-level, to staff as assigned.
- Prioritize work assignments and meet assigned deadlines while appropriately resolving those that conflict in a timely manner, seeking assistance in doing so when necessary.
- Follow the organization’s policies and procedures.
- Appropriately prioritize tasks as needed and to multi-task numerous responsibilities in a timely manner.
- Assist with organizing, coordinating and producing reports and work products of others including summarizing data from multiple persons, locations and resources.
- Establish personal credibility throughout the organization, in order to be an effective support person.
- Coordinate arrangements and other logistics, as directed, for assigned internal and community-based meetings.
- Produce and maintain quality, error free, materials both printed and electronic, that are also in compliance with DRTx accessibility standards.
- Maintain thorough, and complete records including minute taking and database entry.
- Develop and maintain collaborative, cooperative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and employees at all levels of the organization.
- Perform other duties as requested or required.
- Required Qualifications_
- High School Diploma or GED plus three years of full-time secretarial or administrative assistant experience. Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building and collaboration skills to be able to work effectively with others inside and outside of the organization; relationship builder with the flexibility and finesse.
- Exceptional detail-orientation, follow-up skills and organizational skills.
- The ability to multi-task, prioritize and work under challenging conditions while meeting required deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to manage workload so that services are delivered timely and appropriately.
- The ability to work well independently, but also in a team environment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- High level of commitment to service excellence.
- High degrees of integrity, ethics and judgment are a must.
- Preferred Qualifications_
- Associate’s degree in business administration, communications or related field.
- Demonstrated success working with persons with disabilities.
- Bilingual oral and written proficiency in English, with preference to second language proficiency in either Spanish, Vietnamese or American Sign Language.
