**Skills Required**:

- Previous experience with sheet metal laser equipment preferred. Mitsubishi Laser experience a plus.
- Experience with laser programming and nesting a plus.
- Set-up, troubleshoot and operating of the machines, including cut condition, tool and work piece adjustments.
- Safe material handling processes, including forklift driving and sheet lifter operating.
- Ability to read and understand measuring tools and equipment such as a tape measure, calipers and micrometer.
- Ability to perform math including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Working with fractions as well as convert fractions to decimals or vice versa.
- Ability to read blue prints
- Knowledge of general shop procedures and rules including safety precautions.
- Ability and willingness to cooperate with co-workers and work as part of a production team.
- Ability to lift and move 50 pounds, as well as lift and move heavier objects with the assistance of forklifts or another employee.
- Sufficient reading and writing ability to follow work order instructions
- Sufficient visual acuity (corrected) to read instructions, operate machines and inspect parts
- Sufficient manual dexterity to operate the equipment properly.

**Job Summary**:
A Laser Operator performs duties necessary to cut material according to specifications using the laser equipment. The Laser Operator is also responsible for the proper set-up and monitoring of the laser equipment.
- Adhering to all Safety Standards set by the Company
- Reading and understanding blueprints and mechanical drawings
- Knowledge of appropriate tools to keep machines in operation
- Attention to detail; adherence to all standards of quality and safety
- Addressing machine malfunctions in an efficient and expedited manner
- Administer routine checks/maintenance
- Ensuring that projects are implemented/completed according to timelines
- Plan the sequences of operation to achieve optimal yield
- Preparing and inspecting raw materials for production

**Job Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Loads equipment and inspects raw material using sheet lifter and/or forklift in order to prepare the equipment for an accurate cut.
- Review blueprints and plan sequence of operation.
- Ensure work is clearly understood prior to commencing
- Prepares equipment to cut material by downloading the proper program to the computer according to specifications.
- Measures material before and after cutting to ensure compliance with specifications
- Performs basic preventative maintenance, troubleshoot problems and make timely repairs as needed.
- Maintain tools and equipment in optimal working order and perform regular maintenance to maximize production.
- Deburrs, grinds, and clean parts as needed.
- Completes assigned duties in accordance with safety policies and practices.
- Wears personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, protective footwear, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned by a supervisor, lead person or management.
- Always maintain a neat work area

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
