CNC Laser Operator Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Laser Operator to join our team at The Reserves Network Inc. As a CNC Laser Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating laser cutting machines to cut, shape, and modify metal or other materials as per specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate laser cutting machines, including configuring machine parameters (e.g., speed, power, and focus) based on material and cutting requirements.
  • Load and unload materials onto the machine bed and secure workpieces as needed.
  • Perform regular maintenance checks and troubleshooting on the laser machine to ensure optimal performance.
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD files to program the laser cutting machine.
  • Adjust machine settings and calibrate the laser for different materials and thicknesses to ensure precise cuts.
  • Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Measure parts with precision instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers) to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Identify and report any discrepancies or defects in materials or finished products.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical training or certification in laser machine operation, CNC machining, or a related field (preferred).
  • 1-3 years of experience operating laser cutting machines or similar equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD files.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform basic machine maintenance.
  • Knowledge of different materials (e.g., metals, plastics) and their cutting properties.
  • Ability to use precision measuring tools and instruments.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
