The Director, Resettlement and Integration Programs - Fairfax is a member of the LSSNCA Leadership Team, reporting directly to the Executive Director, Refugee and Immigrant Services. The Director strategically implements LSSNCA’s refugee service programs in Fairfax, including responsibility for overall program management and oversight. The Director serves as the primary contact to local stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for oversight and growth of LSSNCA’s refugee services programs in Fairfax, VA.
- Manages and oversees deliverables and grant compliance, including reporting, budgeting, and financial oversight.
- Provides leadership, mentoring, support and supervision to program staff, interns, and volunteers to ensure the provision of quality resettlement, matching grant or public-private partnership services.
- In coordination with Performance and Quality Improvement and Human Resources, identifies educational initiatives and strategies to ensure continual professional development and technical capacity building of the LSSNCA RIS team in Fairfax.
- Establishes and nurtures professional relationships with funders, to include Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service, the Department of State, the VA State Refugee Coordinator, and affiliated partners.
- Cultivates relationships with individuals, business, governmental and non-governmental organizations to coordinate service provision and maximize service offerings for program participants.
- Reviews and revises policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and grant requirements.
- Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates revenue and expenses as compared to budget.
- Monitors performance in coordination with the Performance and Quality Improvement team through regular case file audits, client visits, and case note reviews
- In coordination with Development, identifies financial and other resources to support programmatic growth; contributes to grant proposals.
- Promotes awareness of the refugee resettlement program to the community at large
- Work closely with finance department to monitor budget and compliance
- Participates on LSSNCA Leadership Team and actively participates in developing strategies and creating agency polies and procedures and other LSSNCA oversight activities as assigned.
- Participates in inter-office projects, such as strategic planning, staff development, conferences, annual reports, etc.
- Maintains knowledge and understanding of the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program, service trends, and promising and evidence-based practices for refugee and immigrant populations.
- Other duties as assigned

SKILLS & ABILITIES

**Education**:

- Master’s Degree in Social Work or Public Administration, or equivalent experience

**Experience**:

- 8-10 years of experience in refugee and/or immigration services with a minimum of three years of managerial experience

Computer Skills:

- Microsoft Office Applications (Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Data entry
- General office equipment

Other Requirements:

- Strong knowledge of the U.S. resettlement program
- Speaking/writing another language in addition to English preferred.
- Proven track record of establishing effective relationships with colleagues and partners.
- Outstanding organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail.
- Ability to supervise a diverse staff;
