Come work for CDFW's Office of Spill Prevention and Response (OSPR), an international leader in oil spill prevention, preparedness, response, and restoration. OSPR is hiring an Associate Governmental Program Analyst in the Preparedness Branch to coordinate the review, evaluation, approval, and maintenance of facility oil spill contingency plans, including marine facilities, inland production and transfer facilities, pipelines, and railroads. We are seeking applicants with strong communication and analytical skills who can build effective working relationships with a diverse community of colleagues and stakeholders.

Working Conditions

Ability to use a computer for several hours a day.

Additional Conditions: OSPR is a 24-hour oil and pollution spill response organization. The incumbent in this position may be required to participate in prevention and response training, drills and incidents throughout California, and to be available to deploy/travel with short notice for extended periods (up to 7 days). Occasional travel is required within the state of California via private or public transportation (i.e., automobile, airplane, etc.). Travel may include overnight stay, up to 7 days. Public contact work may require irregular hours, the wearing of a DFW issued uniform and operating state vehicles with a valid driver’s license.
