Job description: Provide support to all aspects of EHS programs and initiatives. Research and resolve EHS issues in a timely manner and provide proactive solutions. Monitor safety performance and recommend and implement changes for continuous improvement. Prepare and maintain EHS records and reports for compliance with regulatory and corporate standards. Ensure the safety and health of plant employees, the community, and the environment. Lead plant environmental and safety performance and compliance initiatives. Analyze plant employee safety programs and develop and implement changes as necessary. Ensure proper shipping of hazardous materials air, water, land. Coordinate the industrial hygiene program, including training and sampling. Execute projects regarding safety and environmental compliance requirements. Monitor contractor compliance with site policies and federal and state regulations. Perform training on safety and environmental policies/processes. Support medical surveillance as required by safety and environmental regulations. Coordinate environmental and safety audits. Address EPA, DOT, NFPA, and/or OSHA requirements. Ensure accurate local safety and environmental recordkeeping and reporting. Lead FP&R standards as needed. Identify and provide resources and guidance for implementing EOHS systems. Develop and drive strategies for conformance to EOHS requirements. Provide direction for improving safety, environment, and quality-conscious behavior. Communicate the need for and impact of EOHS standards. Establish effective strategies for EOHS standards implementation and regulatory conformance. Recognize and acknowledge EOHS performance in sites and individuals. Take corrective actions in a timely manner to mitigate potential EOHS incidents. Abide by facility Safety and GMP requirements. Develop networks to foster teamwork in managing requirements and implementing best practices. Lead the Plant EOHS self-assessment against CP standards and governmental regulations. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field. 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment. 2+ years of experience in an EOHS role. Detailed knowledge of hazardous materials shipping DOT, IATA, IMDG. Understanding of Federal, State, and local requirements for air, water, stormwater, hazardous waste, and release reporting. Knowledge of wastewater/NPDES requirements. Ability to understand and interpret governmental policies and regulations to ensure compliance. Knowledge of the business and financial consequences of non-conformance to standards. Ability to lead by example with safe behaviors and sound environmental practices.
