Ascent Resources is seeking an experienced EHS Specialist. This position is located in Cambridge, OH and will report to the EHS Supervisor.    This position is responsible for coordinating Environmental, Health and Safety programs and procedures that help prevent harm to workers and property. The EHS Specialist will assist with monitoring and maintaining air compliance activities as well as waste management programs.   Primary Duties & Responsibilities
 
•  Serve as the direct EHS point of contact for production, facilities construction, maintenance, I&E, measurement and compression teams
 
•  Perform EHS evaluations, risk assessments and audits to ensure compliance 
 
•  Plan and implement strategic EHS initiatives, identify operational best practices and effectively implement    EHS management systems
 
•  Ability to respond to incidents 24/7/365 as needed
 
•  Evaluate contractor/vendor performance and provide input to operations team
 
•  Assist with the development and maintenance of the Ascent Resources EHS Programs specifically those that directly impact the oil and water hauling operations
 
•  Contractor/Vendor management for production and facilities construction contractors including:
o    Contractor/Vendor Onboarding
o    Performance Improvement Plans
o    Contractor/Vendor outreach / meetings  
•  Track operational and safety risks. Develop and manage strategic risk management strategies to avoid potential incidents
 
•  Incident response and management including investigations, root cause analysis, and the development of incident corrective actions with follow-ups
 
•  EHS functions including training, exercises, workshops, audits, and other duties as assigned
 
•  Present in various settings including to small and large groups of people
 
•  Drive operational effectiveness for EHS programs, including continuous improvement in procedures and tools to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, effective utilization best practices and enhanced productivity
 
•  Participate as a key member of the site leadership team, driving compliance solutions, strategy, EHS simplification and EHS operating rhythms
 
•  Enable business growth by leading risk mitigation and EHS productivity enhancements
 
•  Develop and maintain strong relationships with local operations team, community, customers and regulators
 
•  Work field personnel to identify solutions to EHS issues and audit findings
 
•  Assist operations in Risk Management and Incident Investigation processes including facilitating root cause analysis of reported incidents, near misses, injury, or vehicle collision
 
•  Promote Behavior Based Safety principles
 
•  Assist in Maintaining safety equipment in proper working order and coordinate required inspections, maintenance, calibration/testing, and replacement as required
 
•  Assist in the development and enhancement of compliance review policies and procedures
 
•  Assist with, coordinating, and conducting EHS-related training
 
•  Participate in Emergency Response planning, preparation and efforts
 
•  Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
 
•  Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures 
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Minimum Requirements:  
 
•  Experience developing and delivering EHS program solutions
 
•  Professionally attentive with an understanding of business acumen, business strategies and a desire for team collaboration
 
•  Strong understanding of federal and state transportation safety laws, particularly ODNR and OSHA standards
 
•  Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze safety data, identify trends, diagnose problems, and propose effective solutions
 
•  Ability to work in a fast-changing environment with limited oversight
 
•  Promote a positive and proactive culture to influence stakeholders, and to ensure compliance
 
•  Monitor injury, illness, and incident reports. Provide recommendations on how to prevent risk
 
•  Monitor Health, Safety, and Environmental regulatory compliance within the account
o     Work with management to create strategic solutions that improve and maintain compliance as required
 
•  Work with stakeholders to identify potential concerns. Communicate findings, concerns, and deficiencies to responsible functional managers
 
•  Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with Ascent Resources core values
 
•  Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day and moderately complex issues which may or may not be evident in existing systems and processes
 
•  Technical writing to include incident reports, EHS standards, formal communications, and other documents as needed
 
•  Clean driving record  Preferred:
 
•  Strong knowledge of OSHA General Industry and/or Construction standards
 
•  Demonstrated ability to provide detailed regulatory interpretation of federal and state OSHA regulations 
Education & Work Experience Required
Minimum Requirements:
 
•  Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety or related technical degree or 1-3 years of experience in an EHS role
 
•  Ability to guide the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and handle problems
 
•  Leadership skills to motivate team impact on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the job discipline and department
 
•  Excellent communication skills including written, verbal, listening, and customer service skills with the ability to effectively communicate with and work well with others in order to manage projects, meetings
 
•  Have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence people and drive change.
 
•  Exceptional organizational skills with a high consideration to detail.
 
•  Must possess time management skills and have the ability to meet deadlines.
 
•  Works well independently and in a group environment.
 
•  Must be able to be entrusted with confidential information.
 
•  Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, MS TEAMS, PowerPoint and Outlook
 
•  Knowledge of KPA EHS Management software is a plus
Physical Requirements

•  Work environment may include chemical handling, working at heights, occupational noise, radiation, and exposure to weather conditions such as cold, rain/dampness, heat/humidity, and wind
 
•  Position will require frequent travel between the Ascent Resources locations
 
•  In the course of facility visits, employee may be outside around commercial vehicles, powered industrial trucks and hazardous materials
 
•  The employee will occasionally lift and or carry up to 50 lbs.
 
•  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to use hands/ fingers, handle or feel objects, touch and use tools, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, bend, stoop, twist, lift, reach, push, pull, grasp, balance, kneel, crouch, crawl, grasp, talk, hear, and walk during the course of employment.  This includes walking and working on uneven terrain, steep hills, wooded areas, and near bodies of water
