Laboratory Animal Care Technician

In this role, you'll play a vital part in supporting animal care operations that make a real impact in the research world. This role cares for animals and helps maintain a clean, safe, and highly regulated environment. Schedule: Monday-Friday, 5:30 AM - 2:30 PM Rotation: Weekend & holiday rotation Pay: Starting at $19/hour Benefits: Full benefits within 30 days of hire Opportunities for overtime paid at 1.5x rate. What You'll Be Doing: Feed and care for animals daily Clean and sanitize enclosures and work areas Monitor animal health and behavior Follow detailed instructions and maintain accurate records Keep accurate records of feeding, cleaning, and care of animals Support order prep, facility upkeep, and team-based tasks Follow protocol to ensure the health and welfare of the animals in care Maintain responsibility for sanitation of the animal buildings, cages and support areas What We're Looking For: Comfortable in fast-paced, physical work Dependable with strong attention to detail Team player with a positive, proactive attitude Organized, clean, and safety-minded Prior experience in warehouse, production, sanitation, or farm work is a big plus Qualifications: Education and experience High School Diploma or GED 18 years of age or older Skills and Abilities Good organizational skills with strong attention to detail. Familiarity with basic computer application such as MS Office products, including email. Ability to learn techniques used in the laboratory. Ability to handle laboratory instruments and tools. Ability to handle animals and related equipment as required. Exhibit a quality approach to work, detail oriented, and demonstrate the ability to follow written instructions and work with limited or no supervision. Ability to understand appropriate regulations and demonstrate the ability to apply these practices daily. Ability to function effectively in a team-oriented environment and work independently when needed. *This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience.
