Other Conditions: We are filling one position at either Band A or Band B, depending upon qualifications. Applicants will automatically be considered for both positions. Temporary positions are annually renewable every July 1 contingent upon performance and/or availability of funds. These are not remote positions.
Band B Duties and Responsibilities
(NOTE: **denotes Essential Functions)
*Supports the Associate Director of Entrepreneurship Programs and Program Managers as directed.
*Works closely with OIC staff, instructors, mentors, participants and other stakeholders in the development and delivery of OIC programs including but not limited to HITIDE, Patents2Products, Faculty Fellows, PIE-X and NSF i-Corps.
*Supports and engages in outreach activities, including development of marketing content and opportunities to recruit program participants, faculty, students, instructors, mentors, guest speakers, guest judges etc.
*Collaborates with OIC staff to plan successful OIC events.
*Coordinates and manages logistics for OIC programs and events, including equipment, space, setup and IT assistance as needed.
*Collaborates with Associate Director and Program Managers to expand and develop program content to enhance program participants' engagement in innovation including through experiential learning opportunities.
*Responsible for day-to-day operations of programs, including scheduling appointments, recruitment, enrollment, participation, progress of programs, and correspondence; facilitate course logistical planning and development.
*Manages and completes assignments by deadlines.
*Reviews and recommends changes to program content, policies and procedures to improve program efficiency and effectiveness.
*Coordinates and deploys pulse surveys for feedback ensuring continuous process improvement. Analyzes and prepares reports summarizing results.
*Collaborates with OIC staff and drafts reports and presentations.
*Maintains compliance with University of Hawai'i and OIC procedures, policies, and guidelines.

Band B Minimum Qualifications Possession of a baccalaureate degree in business, engineering, natural sciences, life sciences or related field and 3 year(s) of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for coordinator roles related to higher education, business, innovation and entrepreneurship, technology development; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
Considerable working knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in the area of supporting educational or training programs as demonstrated by the broad knowledge of the full range of pertinent standard and evolving concepts, principles and methodologies.
Considerable working knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations and theories and systems associated with innovation, entrepreneurship or technology transfer.
Demonstrated ability to resolve wide ranging complex problems through the use of creative reasoning and logic to accurately determine the cause of the problems and the resolution of the problems in an effective, innovative and timely manner.
Demonstrated ability to interpret and present information and ideas clearly and accurately in writing, verbally and by preparation of reports and other materials.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team leaders and members, and individuals.
Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer, apply word processing software, and database software.
Demonstrated ability in organization, time management, prioritizing assignments, meeting deadlines and attention to detail.

Demonstrated experience in developing funding proposals and managing outcomes.
Ability to identify and source federal, state and private funding opportunities.
Knowledge of University of Hawaii, State of Hawaii and Federal Government policies and procedures.
Demonstrated experience working in university setting with researchers, students, startups, technology companies, or venture capital.
Demonstrated experience in new business creation, product management or growth initiatives.
