The Raytheon Advanced Electro-Optics Hardware Design Section is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to work onsite at the McKinney, TX location. The candidate will reside within the Advanced EO & RF Mechanical Engineering Department and perform mechanical build, design and documentation of multispectral turret systems, supporting electronics and sub-systems. The candidate will be responsible for the build, test and integration of hardware as well as design tasks for new electro-optical and infrared imaging systems.

The candidate shall follow established procedures and instructions while working closely with program and functional leadership to ensure that overall design goals are met. The candidate is expected to have experience in the use of solid-modeling CAD software and manufacturing processes for complex systems. The candidate will be responsible for developing technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems. The candidate will be also responsible for meeting cost, schedule, quality, and performance requirements for their work products. The candidate will work in a team setting and have support of multiple senior team members. The position will require frequent interaction with other engineering disciplines, program management, external personnel, and suppliers.  Periodic travel, up to 10%, may be required as needed to support off-site activities.

Basic Qualifications:

B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university

Minimum of 2 years of experience in engineering and corporate settings

Knowledge of manufacturing and build processes for complex systems

Familiarity with Engineering Data Management Software such as CommonPDM, EPDM, Windchill, etc.

Familiarity with CAD systems such as Solidworks, CREO or NX

Desired Qualifications:

Prior experience with Raytheon Manufacturing

Knowledge of Airborne Electronics

Experience presenting to technical groups

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.  U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
