Job Title: Senior Optical Test Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Optical Test Engineer to join our team at Raytheon. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing optical test stations for production factories, customer sites, and engineering needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop optical test requirements based on system-level performance requirements.
  • Design and build optical test stations for production factories, customer sites, and engineering needs.
  • Troubleshoot hardware for test equipment development.
  • Communicate with a larger engineering team and with functional and program leadership.
What You Will Learn:
  • Optical Calibration and Metrology
  • Advanced Test Methodology
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining complex optical systems.
Qualifications:

Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, and a minimum of 8 years of prior engineering experience.

  • Experience designing visible or infrared optical test stations and interferometric alignment test equipment.
  • Experience developing test documentation, including test plans, alignment procedures, and calibration procedures for a production environment.
  • Experience building, aligning, testing, calibrating, and/or maintaining optical systems/optical equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Optical Design software such as ZEMAX or Code5.
  • Experience with 3D CAD software such as CREO.
  • Familiarity with optical metrology standards and processes.
  • Experience with EO/IR systems in a production environment.
  • Experience in data analysis for identifying trends and improvement opportunities.

This position requires a security clearance. The security clearance process is handled by DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense. More information about Security Clearances can be found on the US Department of State government website.
