Upon direction from Maintenance Manager, performs various building maintenance and boat maintenance

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

On Landing:
  • Paints with single part and two-part paints; prepares and paints many types of surfaces
  • Performs basic carpentry work: frames, drywalls, and installs doors, windows, baseboard, and molding
  • Performs basic masonry work such as concrete, tile, grout, and stonework
  • Maintains building infrastructure including basic water, sewage, and electrical work
  • Uses hand tools and power tools correctly
  • Performs boat maintenance and cleaning
  • Gathers and/or requests materials to complete a job
  • Possesses the ability to self-mange on small projects
On Island:
  • Drives tug, fork lift and company vehicle
  • Power wash solar panels and roads
On Vessel:
  • Cleans bathrooms, including replenishing supplies such as towels, soap and toilet paper.
  • Checks all garbage bins, empty when necessary.
  • Sweeps, vacuums, mops; inside and outside
  • Regularly sanitize the vessel using approved sanitizing agents
  • Regularly participate in Emergency drills required by the USCG, but not limited to: Man Overboard, Abandon Ship, Fire Response, Bilge Dewatering, Security, and Spill Response.
  • Assist vessel crew with other duties, as needed and assigned by Captain or First Officer/Senior Deckhand.
  • Additional job duties as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications:
  • 2 years building and Vessel maintenance experience preferred
  • TWIC Required
  • Weekend and Holiday Availability Required
  • Drivers License
