Collins Aerospace is currently looking for a Senior Systems Engineer for our Engine Control Systems business unit in Windsor Locks, CT. As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be reporting to the Systems Integration Manager and would be responsible for providing Systems Engineering support for assigned programs.

As the Senior Systems Engineer, you will be collaborating on the integration of engine control system components such as electronic engine controls (FADEC), control effectors and sensors, actuation components, fuel pumps and fuel controls.

Eligible for relocation.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • System level coordination of engine requirements and verification planning with multi-disciplinary teams within Collins as well as with our customer - Pratt & Whitney (PW). Focus for this position is Electrical and Electronic products and subsystems.
  • Review data using PW Unigraph, support investigations, isolate issues to the component level and disposition to the responsible Integrated Project Team (IPT).
  • Long term responsibilities within the systems integration team are to design and develop Jet Engine and Flight Control Systems of Commercial and or Military engine programs including:
  • Architecture Development
  • Control system analysis to support requirements development/verification.
  • Requirements Management and Allocation
Basic Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in engine/aircraft system design.
  • Experience leveraging strong communication skills.
  • Experience with electrical, electronic, and sensing components and subsystems.
  • Experience with Collins and Pratt & Whitney tools and design and qualification processes.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with DOORs, Matlab, Dymola (or similar physics based modeling application), Cameo Systems Modeler (or similar SYSML application)
  • Experience in Engine Control Systems
  • Demonstrated experience with Model Based Design Tools & Practices
  • Experience in Fuel and Actuation Systems
  • Demonstrated experience with Hardware Integration
  • Experience with System Dynamic Modeling, System Verification and Validation

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
