Location: New Orleans, LA

Summary

The Newcomb Institute (NI) Department Administrator, prepares, oversees, and monitors financial, personnel, and operational activities for the Newcomb Institute. They create financial reports for administrative decision-making, pay invoices, process grant payments to students and faculty, and manage annual budgeting and reporting data. They serve as Kronos timekeeper for NI, act as hiring manager for both full-time and part-time staff, and administer human resources functions for NI, including serving as hiring manager and timekeeper for student employees. They manage office supply inventory and purchasing, and manage and implement sales of Mignon Faget jewelry and other NI items. The Department Administrator serves as liaison to the Tulane Budget Office, and communicates and enforces budgeting, purchasing, and hiring processes and policies at NI.
Newcomb Institute is a leading gender equity institute and academic center that is preparing the next generation of gender equity scholars and leaders.

Required Qualifications

•Bachelor's Degree and two years of accounting, bookkeeping, or other financial management experience.OR •High School Diploma/equivalent and eight years of accounting, bookkeeping, or other financial management experience.

Preferred Qualifications

•Knowledge of and experience with Tulane University.•Previous administrative and personnel management experience.
