- Experience preparing vertebrate fossils
- Able to hike long distances while carrying heavy loads
- Able to maintain and repair small mechanical tools (i.e. air scribes, Dremel tool, etc.)

Primary Responsibilities:Department: Agriculture, Life and Physical Sciences
Primary ResponsibilitiesPurpose of Job: The chief responsibility of the paleontology intern will be responsible for preparing and cataloging vertebrate fossil bones in the Sul Ross Geology Program collections. Secondarily, the intern will help maintain the vertebrate paleontology labs, analytical equipment, and preparation tools. If needed, the intern may also be asked to assist with field surveys and excavations. Each aspect of this internship will be applicable to potential academic pursuits and/or research in the field of vertebrate paleontology.Duties and Responsibilities:

STEM Internship Program:This position is part of the Title III STEM Lobotrack to Success (LTS) SRSU STEM Internship Program. Along with the normal job duties, the student will learn from the faculty supervisor about the STEM workforce, different career pathways, research, and more. Students will gain knowledge, experience, and professional connections in the STEM field. Students will have access to professional development tools throughout the internship program (resume building, interview practices, etc.). All other duties are assigned unique to the department. Responsible for the personal safety and the safety of others. This position is security sensitive.
