The Financial Aid Office s focus is to eliminate unnecessary barriers to college access and completion. Our goal is to simplify the financial aid process as much as possible, and to make sure students are always engaged and aware of the next step. Our office allows us to reach students earlier and more efficiently, to have important conversations with students about their individual situations and what needs to be done to help them persist and succeed.

Scope of Position/Essential Duties:
- Plans, organizes, and controls a function of financial aid including Title IV direct federal loans, private loans, and forms processing. Supervises subordinate staff supervisors within department.
- Supervises, hires, coaches, trains and evaluates performance of loan processing staff.
- Participates in the planning, goal setting, and evaluation of the financial aid loan process and operation.
- Reviews and recommends changes and/or implementation of departmental policies and procedures to increase efficiency pf operations and to meet changing regulation requirements.
- Serves as liaison between all university departments, the financial aid office, and private lenders to coordinate policies and guidelines pertaining to financial aid.
- Interprets federal regulations, guidelines, and professional literature on financial aid. Informs financial aid staff of changes, modifications, and interpretations resulting from new or current legislation.
- Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill functions of the position.
This position will be located in Norman with a flexible and/or part-time remote option possible after required training period.
Job Location
Required Education & Experience: Bachelor's Degree, AND:
- 36 months experience in Financial Aid field
Equivalency/Substitution Will accept 48 months experience in lieu of bachelor s degree for a total of 84 months related experience.
Skills:
- Knowledge of current federal regulations governing student financial aid.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information.
- Highly organized and ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
- Ability to communicate well and build rapport with students, faculty and staff.
- Ability to produce reports and complete work within deadlines.
- Strong initiative to solve problems.
Certifications or Licenses:
- Preferred NASFAA Credentials
