The Nurse Director Emergency Services will work for a reputable health system known for their acute care hospitals, clinics, and world-class specialists. The Nurse Director Emergency Services will be based out of their acute care hospital that provides exceptional care to patients throughout Northern Virginia, Washington DC and Maryland. This acute care hospital is recognized for their Trauma Services, 24/7 emergency department, Cardiovascular Specialists, Maternity Care, world-class physicians and specialized surgeons.
The Nurse Director Emergency Services will oversee a fast-paced, 40+ bay Emergency Department attached to the acute care hospital, along with the Freestanding ED in the area.
Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, the Nurse Director Emergency Services will be accountable for overseeing all administrative and clinical operations over a large, very busy emergency department, and will be supported by a team of Nurse Managers, Educators, specialists, technicians and ancillary staff. Responsibilities of the Nurse Director Emergency Services include managing the department budgets, preparing for all upcoming accreditation and surveys, updating policy procedures, developing strategic short and long term growth initiatives, and cross collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Ideally, the Nurse Director Emergency Services should hold an active RN license, prior leadership experience, and a clinical background working in a fast-paced emergency department.
