The Nurse Director Emergency Services will oversee a fast-paced,30+ bed Emergency Department attached to the acute care hospital, along with the Freestanding ED in the area.
Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, the Nurse Director Emergency Services will be accountable for overseeing all administrative and clinical operations over a large, very busy emergency department, and will be supported by a team of Nurse Managers, Educators, specialists, technicians and ancillary staff. Responsibilities of the Nurse Director Emergency Services include managing the department budgets, preparing for all upcoming accreditation and surveys, updating policy procedures, developing strategic short and long term growth initiatives, and cross collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
The ED Nurse Director will work with nursing leadership and senior hospital leadership on department and hospital wide quality initiatives. The Nursing Director Emergency will oversee budget, the department policies and procedures, and will maintain operations with state and Joint Commission guidelines.
The Nurse Director of Emergency Services will maintain the 24-hour responsibility of a busy ER. The Emergency Nurse Director will collaborate with 15 physicians board certified in Emergency Medicine, along with nurse Practitioners, nurses, educators, clinical coordinators and case manager. The medical center also provides: Cardiac Cath and Open Heart Cardiology Services, and a Primary Stroke Receiving Center.
