Senior Tax Accountant 

Under minimal supervision, the Senior Tax Accountant performs complex professional accounting duties and assists the Tax Director with all tax matters for the company. The Senior Tax Accountant successfully manages a high-intensity workload in a deadline-driven environment.

Essential Functions:

  1. Prepares and files federal, state, and local tax documents, including returns, extensions and quarterly estimate payments.
  2. Guides and coordinates the work of staff and interns (if applicable) during the preparation of tax returns and serves as the point person for any questions.
  3. Researches federal, state, and local tax regulations to ensure compliance.
  4. Organizes, researches, and responds to tax notices and interacts with the state’s department of revenue to resolve any outstanding notices.
  5. Works and researches projects as assigned by the Tax Director related to various tax items.
  6. Prepares tax estimates for our physician partners on a quarterly and monthly basis, as required.
  7. Performs other job duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has overall supervisory responsibility for interns, when applicable.

Position Type, Expected Hours of Work & Travel:

This is a full-time, hybrid position. Please note that this role requires on-site work at our Beverly, MA, office once every quarter. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9 AM-5:30 PM EST.

Required Education and Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, MST and/or CPA preferred.

- 3 to 5 years of accounting/finance experience, with exposure to fast-growing companies preferred.

- Experience with large corporations or partnerships (100+ entities) preferred.

- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong interpersonal communication skills, including excellent verbal and written communications.

- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

- Proficient with Microsoft Work, PowerPoint and ONESOURCE tax software preferred.

- Solid knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
