Job Summary of the Multi-Modality TechnologistThis position is responsible for solid to expert knowledge of the modality for which they are currently cross-training. Communicates and works independently in performing all procedures on customers ranging in age from newborn to late adulthood. Prioritizes, provides, and promotes quality patient care to support the Mission, Vision, and Values of St. David’s Healthcare Maintains and supports facility technical and documentation expectations consistent with JCAHO regulations and standards. Positively reflects concern and consideration when interacting with patients, medical staff, and employees. Demonstrates independent critical thinking skills to assume accountability for personal and team contributions.Qualifications of the Multi-Modality Technologist

EDUCATION:

  • Associate Degree
  • Graduate of AMA-approved school of radiologic technology

EXPERIENCE:

  • Two years of previous diagnostic experience in acute care facility desirable.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES:

  • Registered technologist with current certification by ARRT (R) and CE compliance. ARRT (VI), (CV), or (MRI) certification within one (1) year of cross-training start date.
  • Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist with the Texas Medical Board (TMB)
  • ARRT with MRI must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
  • Computed Tomography through ARRT must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

St. David's South Austin Medical Center, which is part of St. David's HealthCare. We are a 368-bed acute care facility offering a range of complex specialties and sub-specialties. Our services include a nationally accredited oncology program with the area's only adult Transplant and Cellular Therapy Program; advanced trauma care with a Level II trauma center; comprehensive cardiac, stroke and orthopedic programs; full-service maternity and newborn care; and two full-service emergency centers in the communities of Bee Cave and Bastrop. St. David's South Austin Medical Center is affiliated with the Texas Institute for Robotic Surgery. We offer advanced robotic services for orthopedics, open heart and lung surgery, complex GI surgery, surgical oncology, general surgery, colorectal surgery, and urology. It was one of the first hospitals in Central Texas to combine the use of CT imaging and robotics to detect early stage lung cancer.
