System Technician - Security Design & Systems

Securitas Security Services USA Inc. is a global leader in providing security solutions that protect businesses' most critical assets. We are seeking a highly trained and experienced System Technician to join our team. This role will focus on maintaining and troubleshooting the security systems for one of our global clients, ensuring their security infrastructure operates smoothly and efficiently.

The System Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of security systems. This role is critical in ensuring that our client's security infrastructure, including access control, alarm systems, and other connected security devices, is fully operational. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in electronic security, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a global team.

Key Responsibilities:

System Onboarding:

  • Program and commission devices.
  • Ensure proper software installation and updates while adhering to GTS policies and procedures.
  • Work with GNS on IP assignment, security VLAN setup, and testing.


System Administration:

  • Manage user roles, setup, and basic data requests.
  • Conduct system audits and adjust system features as needed.


System Maintenance:

  • Perform firmware and software updates, patch management, and hardware upgrades.
  • Manage password updates and system backups, ensuring proper verification and support.


Troubleshooting:

  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to access control, video systems, and databases.
  • Provide technical support and documentation for system-related problems.


Life Cycle Support:

  • Oversee device replacement, cost planning, decommissioning, and device wiping.


Additional Duties:

  • Serve as the administrator and maintenance point for security systems.
  • Independently operate, inspect, and perform minor repairs for system problems.
  • Collaborate with counterparts and oversee the certification of work done on the system.
  • Provide technical diagnostics for escalation and ensure immediate actions for malfunctions.

Education/Experience:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in electronic security.
  • Certified in access control and CCTV systems; knowledge of Lenel and Milestone is a plus.
  • Experience with card access security systems, IT principles, and safety systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and other related software.

Depending on experience, Securitas will offer a starting salary of $70K to $90k, in addition to a full benefit package that includes:
