Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Hardware Design Engineer 5 to join our team in Mountain View, CA. The successful candidate will be responsible for silicon power testing, power-performance analysis, and lab-based hardware testing for a range of devices including server, mobile, and custom hardware.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct SoC or System-level power analysis to optimize performance and efficiency.
  • Execute power measurement and analysis techniques in a lab environment.
  • Utilize oscilloscopes and other lab equipment to carry out detailed hardware testing.
  • Perform hands-on lab work, executing test cases on server, mobile, and custom devices.
  • Develop and maintain Python scripts to automate and optimize testing procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and debug post-silicon (post-si) issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve complex hardware problems.
  • Apply knowledge of power-performance architecture to assess and optimize power trade-offs.
  • Collaborate closely with other engineering teams, demonstrating strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Contribute to test automation efforts to improve testing efficiency and accuracy.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in ML/AI workloads as they pertain to hardware design.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in power testing and analysis, with a strong background in using oscilloscopes, lab equipment, and Python scripting.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with ML/AI workloads and their impact on hardware power consumption.
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate and think critically in a fast-paced, technical environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, particularly in power-performance and post-si issues.
  • Experience in test automation and related software tools.
