Our client, a Government Service Entity in NYC, is adding a Statistical Financial Analyst to their team.
The ideal candidate MUST have:
- 5+ years of experience in data analytics
- 5+ years of experience in developing Tableau and Power BI dashboards.
- Experience with Developing metrics and reports, Data analysis, Data visualization
- High-level competency in Excel (advanced formulas, macros, etc.)
- Expertise in relational database management systems, SQL, data modeling
- Ability to translate complex business requirements to technical specifications for IT
- Highly motivated and effective working autonomously and as part of cross-functional teams
- Ability to multi-task across projects, and be detail-oriented, and accurate
- Be able to legally work in NYC daily or possibly Hybrid option - 1 to 2 days depending upon experience.
Responsibilities Include:
- Analyze and understand business requirements to design effective data models
- Connect BI tools to various data sources, including databases, Excel files, and web services
- Use business intelligence software (Tableau and Microsoft Power BI) to create dashboards and visualize data
- Develop dashboards and key Performance Indicators (KPI) with Power BI and Tableau.
- Design ETL packages dealing with different data transfers between different systems.
- Write, optimize queries and stored procedures
- Create multiple types of reports and packages
- Designs and prepares periodic reports as per requirements details in official policies
- Use technical expertise to automate manual processes and reporting
- Compile and compute data according to statistical formulas for use in data analysis and/or statistical studies
- Work as Data analyst, by interacting with the researchers and gathering requirement for data discovery
- Work with complex data sets to understand problems and recommend procedures while using various analytical and statistical approaches
- Prepare business analytics and assist in preparing metrics and reporting
- Respond to ad hoc requests for data, aggregations, and visualizations
- Conduct research and analysis of data, definitions and usage, system flows, challenges, and opportunities
- Collaborate with business users and business analysts to develop analytical strategies for development of various projects
- Develop documentation including data dictionaries, policies, and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
