Job Summary and Qualifications

  • Supervises the planning of the department's employees in maintaining the upkeep of cleanliness, order and appearance of the medical center and its properties in both public and patient care areas.
  • Will ensure that established housekeeping care is provided to achieve the objectives of the medical center.
  • Maintains the department's organization structure.
  • Assigns responsibility and delegates authority, analyzes and evaluates housekeeping personnel, provides opportunity for growth and development of personnel, as well as provide means of continuing education for all personnel, complies with established standards as assigned by JCAHO, CDC, OSHA, and other federal agencies as may be required. 
  • Performs cleaning functions in various areas of the facility, as needed. 
  • Performs other tasks as directed. 
  • Trains and mentors staff; responsible for shift changes and performs associated task necessary for the smooth transition of the shift, assigns staff to assigned areas; in the absence of the EVS manager.

What qualifications you will need:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1-3 years of housekeeping experience in a hospital setting preferred
  • 1+ year of leadership or supervisory experience required
