Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Payroll Analyst. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing payroll processes, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations. This position requires a strong understanding of payroll systems and accounting principles, as well as the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Responsibilities

Process payroll for all employees, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Prepare and analyze journal entries related to payroll transactions.
Assist in the reconciliation of accounts payable and accounts receivable related to payroll activities.
Utilize financial software to manage payroll data and generate reports.
Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate employee information is reflected in the payroll system.
Address employee inquiries regarding payroll discrepancies or issues.
Support tax-related activities, including preparation of tax filings and compliance documentation.
Conduct audits of payroll processes to identify areas for improvement.
Skills

Proficiency in Payroll processing and understanding of debits and credits.
Knowledge of technical accounting principles and practices.
Familiarity with tax regulations affecting payroll operations.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate journal entries.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team while managing individual responsibilities.
Excellent communication skills for interacting with employees and other departments.
Previous experience as a clerk or in a similar financial role is advantageous.
